If you would like to join you will receive an invitation and the rest is … well, plain sailing!

We can accept all common formats but you may find that sending them full size (especially from some of the newer phones and cameras) may prove difficult.

Using The Website

The Main Menu Bar

The Main Menu Bar

The first time you visit you will typically start on our front page. (If not, click on the Lions logo to the top left and it will take you to the home page from anywhere on the site.)

At the top of every page is the Main Menu Bar …

Navigation Bar

Let’s go through it it detail.

The Lions Logo on the left will take you back to home page, from anywhere, when clicked.

The Sharing Icons (above the About Us text) provide quick links to (left to right) …

  • Our RSS Feed
  • Our Twitter Feed
  • Our Facebook Page
  • Our Google+ Page
  • Our YouTube Channel

Below the Sharing Icons you will find the Primary Menu Options. Those with a down marker open into other menu items as well.

Finally, to the extreme right, is a Search Icon for this website. Click this icon and a search box will open where you can search for articles.

The Call To Action Bar

The Call To Action Bar

Call To Action

After the navigation bar we have the Call To Action Bar.

The Call To Action Bar is a slider which shows one or more pictures with a Call To Action message and associated button.

Clicking the button will take you to the appropriate page quickly and simply!

In the event that there is major new appeal (especially those coordinated worldwide) the Call To Action Bar may be replaced by a special appeal section.

Featured Posts

Featured Posts

Featured Posts

After the Call To Action Bar we have a section where we show three Featured Posts.

These articles are those we at Thame and District Lions Club feel are currently most important or deserve most emphasis.

This section will change from time to time and also in response to urgent appeals.

Front Page Posts

Front Page Posts

Underneath the Featured Posts the website shows those posts that we feel deserve to be on the front page.

These Front Page Posts are generally in “newest first” sequence but some of them are kept at the top of the list (they’re called “sticky” in the trade) as they have continued importance.

We only show a small number of these Front Page Posts at a time but older posts can be selected at the bottom of the page.

In general all posts can be found using the Main Menu at the top of every page.

The Footer and Copyright

The Footer and Copyright

Footer

The Footer, which is shown on every page, contains some useful links.

There is another search bar, this time expanded

The Log-In Link (for members only) and links to the various RSS feeds (if you don’t know what these are you probably don’t need them).

Finally at the right there are links to our Associated Lions Sites and other groups.

At the very bottom is a repeat of the sharing (Social) links, the Copyright Notice and a link to Contact the Webmaster in case of issues.

Finally, at the extreme bottom right, there is a quick link to get you back to the top of the page.

Content Sidebars

Content Sidebars

On most pages and posts you will see a Content Sidebar to the right of the main article.

This sidebar contains some useful links to …

  • Recent Posts
  • Recent Comments
  • The Archives of Posts by month
  • Links to the various Categories of Posts
  • Our most recent “Tweets” on our Twitter Feed
  • Our most recent Posts on our Facebook Page

These links can be a really effective way for you to navigate our website in the way that suits you.

Getting Lost

Getting Lost

If you get lost simply Click the Lions Logo at the top-left and you will be returned to the home page.

If you select a page that does not exist you will be presented with a Page Not Found page which will guide you further.

Occasionally you may try to view a page that you are not authorised to see, probably because you are not logged on as a member. In this case you will be presented with a page explaining what to do next.
